Why to adopt an Indian breed over Imported breed of Dogs.

I wonder why we have so less self esteem and always consider whatever that is coming from the foreign lands to be the best, be it our obsession with fair colour or our body types. We have become like western clones or should I call CLOWNS.

The obsession with anything foreign has gone to a limit that we pay hefty amounts to import a dog and keep it in the best of conditions and try giving it an artificial temperate climate in a tropical/sub tropical country. We need to understand that any breed takes generations to adapt in a particular climate and its survival and health depends on its adaptation. But still we adopt a St. Bernard/Husky in India. Isn't this funny.

I hate it when people call our own breed of Dogs as ROADSIDE. Why ??

Just because they are not fluffy or not owned by a celebrity or they don't come with an exorbitant price tag or just BECAUSE THEY ARE INDIAN.

The problem with us is that we are so mentally colonised that we never value what we already have rather we keep appreciating and accepting whatever the west tries to dump on us. The same can be seen in our attitude towards the Indian breed of dogs.

They are as good as any other imported breed of canine, we only need to train them and give them the same care and importance. They are well adapted to Indian Climate and resist lot many diseases to which the other breeds are prone. They are strong and extremely alert. They are highly intelligent, easily trainable and very easy to maintain.

Moreover, its not about which breed is superior or inferior rather its about being proud of what belongs to us. At last, I would like to end by saying that when you step outside next see the eyes of the same so called roadside dog, you will find the same innocence. Just try feeding this dog for 3-4 days you will see that he becomes faithful to you forever.

So, if you are a dog lover like me and planning to adopt a dog try adopting Indian Pariah Breed, it would not disappoint you.
